There are so many options for acne treatment on the market. On one end there are several different types of medication and topical treatments, on the other there are various different natural or organic products. But, do all these products work? Well, most of these products do deliver on their promises. But, the key point being that there is no one size fits all solution in the area of acne treatment. This is understandable because everyone doesn’t have the same skin type either. To address these needs various different laser treatment providers have sprung up all over the place.

A quick recap of how pimples are formed

Our skin has tiny pores connected to oil producing glands underneath the skin. These glands produce oils that moves dead skin cells to the skin surface. The ‘pipe’ that is connecting the pore to the gland clog up due to excess oil production. This results in the formation of pimples. There are different varieties of this problem and each has a different name - blackheads, whiteheads, acne vulgaris, acne rosacea etc. You will definitely want to consult a dermatologist to understand your condition.

Now, coming back to our main discussion. The procedure for the laser treatment is fairly straightforward. A very powerful, high-speed and extremely accurate laser is controlled by the laser technician. So, what does the beam do? The beam destroys the specific excess oil producing glands that are under the skin and destroy any existing bacteria in these areas.

Sounds simple enough. Now, you might be wondering if this is all there is to it. Well of course not. As with any other medical procedure you should be aware of certain drawbacks of laser treatment.

* At times, one treatment isn’t enough. It’s hard to predict whether all the excess oil producing glands and bacteria have been taken care of. So, you might have to go through the procedure a couple of times till you are able to achieve the desired result.

* The other problem is that this treatment is expensive. The cost ranges depending on the experience of the provider, quality of the laser facilities etc. So, bear in mind that this might not be a one-time deal when you are shopping for laser treatment providers.

So, there you have it. Both sides of the story. While it is easy to measure the drawbacks in monetary terms, it is hard to measure how much the self-esteem of the individual is raised once this procedure is completed successfully. That feeling is one word - priceless!

Does your organization have a learning disability?

As we progress through life we are required to learn new skills to advance to the next level. Even when we enter the working world we are required to learn new skills. We stop growing and advancing as soon as we believe we have learnt everything we need to know. At that point we begin vegetating.

The same can be said for organizations. Every organization grows with enthusiasm up to a point and then it slows and even stops. An organization needs to learn to grow. When an organization believes it knows everything it needs to know it will stop growing. The problem, in the case of an organization, is that it needs to learn just to stay in one spot let alone advance.

Think about how computers have changed the face of business. By refusing to learn about computers a company today could not hope to compete. Without computers there are very few companies that can survive and thrive.

In 1983 a Royal Dutch/Shell survey found that a third of the firms in the Fortune 500 in 1970 had vanished. They were not just smaller but they ceased to exist. The survey estimated that the average lifespan of a large industrial company is less than forty years. Not long considering all the effort that goes into building a company.

Peter Senge in his book “The Fifth Discipline” identifies 7 learning disabilities found in organizations. Over the next 6 eZines I will cover each of these disabilities. If you can see any of these disabilities in your company then we really suggest you put some effort into solving the problem. We addressed one disability “The Myth of the Management Team” in a previous eZine. Follow this link to read about that disability http://www.aweber.com/z/article/?arcturusadvisor.

The best way we have found to create a learning organization is through Best Year Yet. http://www.arcturusadvisors.com/partners.htm. Everything that is needed in a transformation is addressed within the program.

Learning Disability 1 - “I am my position”

We are so loyal to our jobs that they have begun to define who we are and how we think. Many people can’t see themselves doing anything else and when asked what they do for a living will respond “I am an accountant” or the equivalent. They usually do not see the purpose of the organization they work for or how they contribute to the whole. Most see themselves within an organization over which they have little influence.

A job is seen as that, a job - defined by limits and tasks. Something which we try and cope with and do our time in, according to the job description. Jobs and functions do not overlap. We do not see how our job has any impact on another function within the organization.

The problem with “I am my position” is that we see the organization as a bunch of silos, none interacting with the others. An accountant only does accountant work and a marketing manager only does marketing work. The accountants are not concerned with how their decisions impact any other positions or functions within the company. They make accounting decisions based on accounting impact and not organizational impact.

The other problem associated with this learning disability is that people have little sense of responsibility for the results attained when the different silos interact. They only see their responsibility for their silo and no more. As a result when problems occur it can always be blamed on ’someone else’. Problems get lost and nothing is learnt from unexpected results.

A learning organization on the other hand ensures systems thinking - the process of seeing the organization as a whole interacting organization. Where each decision is evaluated on how it impacts the whole. Holistic management in Best Year Yet terms.

Do your people interact? Do they understand how their decisions impact the entire organization?

These are three of the world’s best and largest diving training organizations that offer scuba diving courses and classes.

PADI or Professional Association of Diving Instructors (www.padi.com):

In the recreational diving membership organizations, PADI is the world’s largest, with offices in Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the United States. PADI started in 1967 and the main corporate headquarters is located in California, and is known as PADI Worldwide.

PADI offers Open Water Diver course, the most widely accepted and esteemed diving certification in the world. One of the popular entry level trainings PADI offers is the Discover Scuba Diving program, accessible at any PADI Dive Center or Resort. Basic concepts and scuba skills are taught here under the supervision of PADI Professionals in pool or pool-like conditions. Though minimum age requirement is 10 years old, younger kids can also attend the “junior” courses.

The entry level training emphasizes on practical safety issues instead of theoretical concepts such as the physics and chemistry of diving. The Discover Scuba Diving program is followed by the PADI Specialty Diver and PADI Rescue Diver programs for people who want to continue. These include advanced training and additional skills specific to personal interests. After each course is completed, a certificate is issued which is widely accepted throughout the world as proof of proficiency. PADI issues almost 946,000 certifications each year.

NAUI or National Association of Underwater Instructors (www.naui.com):

NAUI Worldwide was established in 1959 as a non-profit diving membership association, and organized solely to support and promote Dive Safety through education, which has now become the second largest diver training organization. Their training programs include Skin Diver through Instructor Course Director, with several number of specialty courses including Search and Recovery Diver, Scuba Rescue Diver, Nitrox and technical diving , to name a few.

NAUI also includes Technical courses, Leadership courses and Recreational courses. Recreational courses include Skindiver, SCUBA Diver, Experienced SCUBA Diver and Advanced SCUBA Diver. NAUI’s certification class is for people above 8 year-olds and you don’t have to be an accomplished swimmer. For younger kids, there is also a “Snorkeling for Kids of All Ages” non-certification class.

SSI or Scuba Schools International (www.divessi.com):

SSI is also a worldwide diving training organization that specializes in business support for dive businesses that was established in 1970. It is, in fact, the largest school-based training agency in the world with various regional centers, and its certification is widely accepted throughout the world. They have a SSI Facility Search feature on their website if you need to get region-specific information.

The beginner programs offered by SSI include Scuba Ranger, Try Scuba, Passport Diver, Open Water Diver, Snorkeling, and Scuba Skills Update. In order to reach SSI’s highest recognition level in diving - the Platinum Pro5000 Diver award, you have to go through a number of intermediary such as Stress and Rescue Diver, Specialty courses, Continuing Education Ratings, and advanced programs such as Dive Leader Education System, including Dive Control Specialist and Open Water Instructor.

For the best natural acne treatments - solutions for acne sufferers - one need not have to look anywhere else or consult a doctor. But these simple tips one can manage from within the contours of one’s own home itself. In the following paragraphs we’ll see how acne can be effectively checked using some of the best treatment for acne, in a naturalistic way.

It is known from scientific studies that acne is aggravated by oily and fatty foods. Hence the best treatment for acne - in a natural way - is to configure one’s diet accordingly. Avoid all sorts of milk products, oily foods, sugar items, and other junk foods, and include vegetables, greens and fruits in the diet. Also, find out if any particular food item is aggravating acne. This is because each person’s body may respond differently to different food items and such an analysis could help one to streamline his/her diet efficiently.

Lack of sleep and over stress are found to cause hormonal imbalances that eventually lead to acne. Hence the best treatment for acne is to keep oneself de-stressed or relaxed. Taking a long shower before hitting the bed not only relaxes the body and mind, but also cleans the skin and hair, which is also very important in checking acne. We’ll see more about the latter point in the next paragraphs.

For some, the gel or cream they apply on their hair is known to trigger acne. It may not cause problems when it remains on the hair, but once it comes in contact with the facial skin, it is found to induce acne or aggravate existing acne. The best treatment for acne in this case is to change brands or completely avoid such chemicals.

But the best treatment for acne - and the simplest amongst the ones we have discussed till now - is cleaning one’s skin with a suitable glycerin soap and a soft brush daily. This will help to cleanse the skin and remove the dirt from the pores before any infection sets in. For normal persons, cleansing once in a day will serve the purpose. But if a person’s skin is oilier, try facial cleansing twice a day.

In certain acute cases, the best treatments for acne, as we discussed here, may not yield desirable and consistent results. In such instances, it is advisable to consult a physician for further treatment acne at the earliest.

We have made a research to find the best acne treatments. Find the results only on the Best Natural Acne Treatments Guide

Surprisingly, hair loss is one of the reasons female pre-operative patients sit on the fence before deciding to have gastric bypass surgery. Obese people, particularly obese women, often have lush gorgeous hair. Of course they do - it’s well fed and nourished! How many of us have been described as the woman with “beautiful hair and a pretty face”? What person in their right mind would give up one of their beautiful features?

Hair loss usually occurs in the fourth of fifth month following weight loss surgery. During the phase of rapid weight loss, caloric intake is marginal. This puts the body in a state of panic called starvation. Think about the pictures of prisoners of war. Most victims of this atrocity are without hair because they are literally starving to death. A healthy body normally sheds ten percent of hair follicles at any given time. When a body is starving roughly thirty to forty percent of hair follicles are sacrificed as the body channels nutrition to more vital areas. During this phase hair loss is dramatic, often patients find clumps of hair on the shower floor. Remaining hair becomes drab and lifeless.

I knew hair loss was a potential result of weight loss surgery, but because I’m a “cup-half-full” person, I didn’t believe that hair loss would happen to me! That just happens to other people, I told myself! Imagine my surprise when my blonde locks were littering the bathroom floor like hair saloon. I shed some tears over that.

The hair loss is a transient effect of your gastric bypass surgery and will be resolved when nutrition and weight stabilize. When my hair began falling out, my husband, who has been a proponent of vitamin supplements all his life, found a vitamin specifically formulated for building strong healthy hair. The vitamin I take for healthy hair and nails is Silica Complex by Puritan’s Pride. It contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron, betaine and horsetail extract. Consumption of this supplement almost immediately retarded my hair loss and renewed my dull lifeless hair. I will continue taking this supplement throughout my life. Three years after surgery my hair is long, full and lustrous - one would never know I had suffered significant hair loss. In hindsight, I would certainly begin taking this supplement prior to my surgery. In the very least I would begin taking it soon after surgery before the signs of hair loss were apparent.

The whole scenario behind the invention of toys is that they are to be enjoyed, but part of that enjoyment includes making sure the toys are safe for your children. There are 10 simple steps that you can take to ensure that your child enjoys his/her toys while taking the appropriate steps to make sure they are safe.

Follow the age recommendations on the package.
This information is typically written in smaller print and is often located in a lower corner, or back, of the box.

If the toy contains small parts, consider your child’s behavior before purchasing.
Even if he/she is in the age range recommended by the manufacturer, parents must consider whether or not their child behaves mature enough to handle the toy and it’s parts.

Never leave a child unattended when playing with a toy that features small parts.
Even if you step away for a minute, that may be all that it would take for your child to decide to put the toy in his/her mouth. This can be very dangerous, so always provide as much supervision as possible while your child is playing with his/her toys and even more so if they feature any small parts. At the same time, never allow children to run with any toys that have sharp or protruding points.

Never allow the child to put toys in his/her mouth.
If the child were to swallow any part of the toy, or accessories, the result could be tragic. If you see the child putting his/her toys in their mouth, remove them immediately while saying “no” in a firm voice. It is not necessary to take the toys away from the child, but they should be closely supervised.

Pay close attention to consumer safety department notices and product recalls.
This information is very important because it provides updated information as to the safety of certain products, along with any that have been recently found to have defects. In the latter case, a product recall may be issued in order to avoid injuries. Never allow a child to play with toys that have been recalled or are not deemed to be safe.

Make sure that any drawing markers, paint or crayons that you purchase are non-toxic.
On every product that has been tested and is proven to be non-toxic, the label will indicate any such findings. Look closely on the back of the packaging in search of this seal before buying these types of art accessories.

If a toy is painted, make sure that the paint is not coming off.
This could be dangerous if the child were to put the toys in his/her mouth or if it were to get in their eyes, so be very mindful of chipping or peeling paint.

Make sure toys and dolls are flame retardant.
This is very important for the obvious reasons and to protect the safety of your child.

Make sure that the toys are an authentic product and not a cheap imitation, which may indicate cheaper manufacturing.
When shopping for toys, always make sure that you are getting what you pay for.

Monitor the message or rating that a toy or video game is promoting.
These days, so many toys are promoting unhealthy messages or ideals. It is important to monitor the toys that your child enjoys in order to make sure that the influences they are getting are the best for their age.

Buy toys online at discount price, including Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, Sponge Bob Square Pants and many others.

You should already know that nutrition is very important to your quality of life. If you want to have a healthy life and lifestyle, you will need to have a healthy diet with proper nutrition. You might hear all the time that your nutrition greatly affects the way you live and your quality of life but have you ever really thought about why? Do you really understand why it is so important?

If you really want to take the steps to live the long life that you deserve and to be as healthy as possible and enjoy those years, than you need to learn all you can about the importance of optimal nutrition. What you eat really affects your body and health.

1. What is optimal nutrition?
2. What nutrients do you need to be healthy?

3. What foods give you these nutrients?

Importance of Optimal Nutrition

Optimal nutrition is very important to your overall health and fitness. Studies have shown that people can actually live longer if they have healthy nutrition. It is proven that there is a link between optimal nutrition and long life and long term health.

If you take a look at society, you will notice an increasingly large number of people that are overweight and obese. You will also see problems such as poor teeth and acne, dry, brittle skin, dry hair and other problems. You will find many people on medications for headache, stomach problems, acid reflux, constipation, heart disease, high blood pressure and more. What may be more alarming than the high amount of medications is the fact that most people receive very little information about what is actually causing their disease or condition. Instead, they get a pill.

What many people never know is that what they are eating (or not eating) can be causing these health problems. You also need to understand that you will have to make changes and adjustments to your intake over the years and stages of your life. Just like toddlers need a different diet from teenagers, you also need to alter your diet as you continue through all of life’s stages. Understanding what is best for you through each stage of your life is the best way to remain in optimal health.

Micro and Macronutrients

Many people hear that they need proper nutrition but just what does that mean exactly? What nutrients do you need to be healthy? Optimal nutrition will include a variety of different micronutrients and macronutrients. Micronutrients include certain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Macronutrients include carbohydrates, proteins and fats that make up the foods you eat.

There is too often a lot of myth surrounding the nutrients, our bodies and how we use these nutrients. This is why it is very important that you get all the facts when planning to change your lifestyle and diet. Many people are suffering from malnutrition and may not even know it. Many overweight individuals may be suffering from malnutrition. Just because you are eating does not mean you are eating the right things.

Micronutrients are the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that your body needs to be healthy. The specific ones and amounts of each will depend on your body, sex, age and other factors. Every person is different so there is not one set plan that works for everyone. You need to learn what works for you. As you change, grow older, etc. this will change again and you will continue to have to adjust this.

Macronutrients are the carbs, proteins and fats that you get from foods. The amounts of these that you need will vary as well. This is where many myths come in about what you should or should not eat. The facts are that too much of anyone can be bad and not enough can be bad. It’s all about finding a balance. This means those “All-Carb” or “No Carb” diets that are so popular on the market are really not the best thing for you.

What you choose to ingest in your body has a big impact on your overall health and your general well-being. People now eat more fast foods and frozen dinners and other quick meals that are not very nutritious at all. Some of these foods even have additives in them that can make them addictive so that you want more and more. People typically eat out of hunger and many of these foods do not work to satisfy your hunger leaving you wanting more or something else. Yet, they still have many calories and fat and other things that your body does not need.

Make the Committment

If you are serious in obtaining optimal health to the best of your ability, then take a look at your lifestyle in general. Are you eating the right foods? Are you exercising? Are you getting plenty of fresh air on a daily basis? Do you have positive relationships? If you find yourself answering “no” to these questions, then make the commitment to change. Talk with your family, friends, or a nutritionist. Check to see if there are support groups in your area related to health and lifestyle changes. Look into joining your local gym. Do your research and then purchase the right nutritional supplements that will help you achieve your goals.

If you at least try to make a change in one area, more are sure to follow! You are now on your way to optimal health.

Article writing and distribution creates free one way incoming links back to your web site. Link building in this manner increases your web sites exposure, visitors and you overall search engine rankings. By using the following techniques you can dramatically improve your web site traffic in a very short period of time.

1. Create Viral Content For Your Web Site - Add your own resource box/byline to your articles and post them on your web site. You could allow your visitors to publish the articles on their web site if they also include your resource box and keep your hyperlink active. This will spread your link around the internet like a virus and increase your link popularity fast.

2. Submit your articles to free content web sites for other webmasters to reprint for publishing. When you include your resource box at the end of the article with your website URL you will not only get free advertising but you will get a link back to your site. This will increase your link popularity and cause your site to rank higher in the search engines.

3. Combine your articles into a free e-book. You can place your business ad and hyperlinks back to your site in the e-book. E-book creating software is inexpensive and easy to use. By giving your e-book away to visitors and allowing them to link to your site to give it away to their visitors will multiply your web site traffic, exposure and link popularity.

4. Create an article directory on your web site. People will visit your web site to get the free information. By allowing them to reprint your articles with the stipulation that they keep the resource box and hyperlink active you will increase your link popularity. Also allow your visitors to place a link on their web site that links back to your article directory. By providing your free “instant article directory” to their visitors you will increase your web site’s exposure and receive a percentage of their visitors as well.

5. Offer other web sites, that are relevant to your own, free content articles about your area of expertise to post on their web site. Include your link on all of your content. Your article should be related to your web site because it will bring you visitors that are interested in your product or service.

6. Use an article distribution service that distributes articles to thousands of web sites, newsletters and ezines at one time. Your article will be published on dozens of web sites almost immediately. I used this technique with an article distribution service called thephantomwriters.com and got literally thousands of links from only four articles. Distribute your articles several times and you will increase your exposure. Change your article’s title and redistribute it several times more to maximize your article’s potential.

As you can clearly see, writing and distributing articles can have a profound affect on your web site’s exposure. There is absolutely no better or faster way to increase your web site’s exposure, link popularity and search engine rankings.

Vaudeville died when I was a kid.

I went to the last vaudeville show in our town. It was on the 4th of July.

The night before, my dad came home from work and opened this box which had two Uncle Sam suits. I headed for the door to escape to the back yard!

Dad caught me by the scuff of the neck: “Where do you think you’re going?”

“Goin’ out to play.”

“Here, let’s get this on you.” He helped me and my brother, D, get into the Uncle Sam suits. My little brother thought his was neat. I knew I looked like an idiot.

We walked the two miles to downtown Salt Lake City. Dad paraded us up one street and down the other. Old people told us we looked cute.

I tried to hide under a bus, but Dad kept me on the sidewalk.

Dad had hyped the fact that we were going to a movie and a vaudeville show at the Lyric Theater. That’s how he kept us walking to promote his political career. It was better than going back to starving to death. Politics meant his job.

Finally, with our little butts hanging to the ground, we dragged into the theater.

The Vaudeville show started first.

I don’t remember the acts except the juggler and the FAN DANCER!

I was ecstatic and Dad was absolutely humiliated.

He had brought his Mormon boys to a fan dance!

That’s when I started to giggle. I don’t remember if the movie was a comedy or not, but I laughed all the way through it too. When the movie ended, Dad still had his head under his coat.

What a day!

The End
